What does the British Ambassador do?
The British Ambassador is HM The Queen's and government's representative in the Indonesia and is responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates. His tasks are to present British policies to the Indonesian Government and to Indonesian, to report and explain Indonesian policies and views to his own Government in London, and to promote British interests. He is also responsible for press and cultural relations and for visa and consular services.

Corporate Services Officer - IT & Admin Support
(1 year fixed term contract)
The British Embassy in Jakarta is part of a world-wide network of 230 Diplomatic Posts, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. Indonesia and the United Kingdom have a strong relationship, and we work closely together to tackle climate change and promote sustainable growth.
We are looking to recruit a Corporate Services Officer (IT & admin support) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Services Manager and will be responsible for ensuring delivery to the whole Embassy of effective IT support, maintenance and management of financial resources and residual estates management functions to the whole Embassy, working in close liaison with Embassy-wide colleagues and our Regional Corporate Services Centre (RCSC) in Manila.

We are looking to recruit a Corporate Services Officer (IT & admin support) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Services Manager and will be responsible for ensuring delivery to the whole Embassy of effective IT support, maintenance and management of financial resources and residual estates management functions to the whole Embassy, working in close liaison with Embassy-wide colleagues and our Regional Corporate Services Centre (RCSC) in Manila.
Main duties :
- Providing support for all IT equipment
- Improving technical support at post through:
- Maintaining as well as supplying guidance and advice on the Embassy’s F3G IT system
- Creating a replacement stock cycle from F3G inventories on quarterly basis
- Maintaining & providing support for Embassy website, stand-alone computers and laptops
- Maintaining and testing Business Continuity Plan equipment
- Providing support for the Embassy’s “FTN” telephone equipment in both our Embassy buildings
- Work closely with Embassy and RCSC colleagues on finance administration
- Manage and monitor Embassy’s estates database and property management system (Pyramid)
Requirements :
- Minimum D3 degree in IT or related field
- At least 1 year experience in IT support, preferably in multicultural organisation
- Strong knowledge of IT applications and MS Windows
- Excellent English and Indonesian language skills, both written and spoken
- Proficient in MS Office
