Kini Orang Indonesia patut berbangga diri, karena film action terbaru hasil karya anak bangsa Indonesia The Raid : Redemption bisa menjadi The Cadillac People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award pada film pembuka program Midnight Madness Toronto International Film Festival 2011 (TIFF) pada 8 September 2011 lalu. Film The Raid : Redemption ini sendiri sudah lama beredar sejak tahun 2011. The Raid diproduseri by Gareth Evans dan pemeran utamanya adalah Iko Uwais. Karena keberhasilannya itu, The Raid dilirik oleh Sony Pictures dan akhirnya distribusi untuk Amerika Serikat dibeli oleh Sony Pictures, Canada oleh Alliance Films, sedang agen untuk penjualan internasional dipegang oleh Celluloid Nightmares. Oleh Sony Pictures, judul akhirnya ditambah menjadi: The Raid: Redemption.

Di jantung daerah kumuh Jakarta
berdiri sebuah gedung apartemen tua yang menjadi markas persembunyian
para pembunuh dan bandit kelas dunia yang paling berbahaya. Sampai saat
ini, blok apartemen kumuh tersebut telah dianggap tidak pernah
tersentuh siapa pun, bahkan untuk perwira polisi yang paling berani
sekalipun. Diam-diam di bawah kegelapan dan keheningan fajar, sebuah
tim elit SWAT (pasukan khusus) berjumlah 20 orang ditugaskan untuk
menyerbu apartemen persembunyian tersebut untuk menyergap gembong
narkotik terkenal yang menguasai gedung tersebut.
Tapi ketika sebuah pertemuan dengan
seorang pengintai membuka rencana mereka dan berita tentang serangan
mereka mencapai sang gembong narkotik, lampu dalam gedung tiba-tiba
padam dan semua pintu keluar diblokir. Terdampar di lantai enam dan
tanpa jalan keluar, satuan khusus tersebut harus berjuang melawan
penjahat-penjahat terburuk dan terkejam untuk bertahan hidup dalam misi
penyerbuan tersebut.

bioskop-bioskop di seluruh Indonesia dan US (internasional)

the heart of the slums of Jakarta stands an old apartment building that
became the headquarters of the murderers and bandits hiding the world's
most dangerous class. Until
now, the rundown apartment block has been considered to have never
touched anyone, even for the most courageous police officers though. Secretly
under darkness and silence of dawn, an elite SWAT team (special forces)
amounted to 20 people are assigned to raid the apartment hiding to
ambush famous drug kingpin who controls the building.
But
when an encounter with a scout to open their plans and news about the
attacks they reach the kingpin of narcotics, the lights suddenly went
out of the building and all the exits blocked. Stranded
on the sixth floor and no way out, the special unit to fight against
the worst criminals and ruthless to survive in the raid mission.
The
Raid: Redemption will be officially released on March 23, 2012 and
played simultaneously in cinemas all over Indonesia and the U.S.
(international) .::.
